Verified lottery lore — history, prize math, and mechanics of the game.
Magnum was born as 'Empat Nombor Ekor' — literally 'Four Numbers Tail'
Magnum Corporation was incorporated 19 Dec 1968 as Empat Nombor Ekor Sdn Bhd, and on 1 April 1969 became the first private company licensed to run 4D in Malaysia. Pioneer of the game you play today.
Singapore's first computerized 4D draw (31 May 1986) produced 1st prize 8838
8 sounds like 發 (fā, 'prosper') in Mandarin. The machines picked the luckiest possible number on day one. Turnover jumped 215% that year to S$283 million.
Sports Toto was started by the Malaysian government in 1969
Its original mission: raise funds for sports, youth and cultural activities. It was later acquired by Vincent Tan's Berjaya group.
4D began with a schoolboy raffling his bicycle
A schoolboy sold 100 class="wowgrid" id="dyk" tickets, each bearing two digits; the winner matched the last two digits of a Turf Club sweepstake ticket. That became 2D → 3D → 4D, wildly popular since the 1950s.
Big RM1 1st prize pays RM2,500 — Small pays RM3,500
Big wins on any of 23 numbers (top 3 + 10 Special at RM180 + 10 Consolation at RM60). Small only wins on the top 3 — but pays more.
Your number 1234 is secretly 24 tickets
An i-Perm / iBOX / mBOX bet of RM1 on 1234 covers all 24 permutations. One pair (e.g. 1123)? 12 permutations. This is why perm players win small amounts constantly.
Magnum Life pays RM1,000 EVERY DAY for 20 years
That's over RM7.3 million drip-fed daily. The 2nd prize? RM1,000 every day for 100 days.
Magnum's 4D Jackpot (2009) was the world's first 4D-with-jackpot game
Launched 23 September 2009 — pick two 4D numbers (RM2) and chase a pooled jackpot on top of the classic game.
Unclaimed prizes expire after 180 days
Six months to claim, then the money stays with the operator. Check your old tickets. Check them NOW.
Grand Dragon's draw number IS the date
DN 260925 = 26-09-25. It draws every single day, which is why its archives are the hardest to find — and why our GD history starts now.
Toto tickets carry your Chinese zodiac (生肖)
Every SportsToto 4D draw publishes a zodiac for the 1st prize number. Punters cross-reference the zodiac with dreams, temples and the 4D dictionary.
Singapore Turf Club ran the first Singapore 4D in May 1966
First prize: S$2,000 for a class="wowgrid" id="dyk" ticket. Singapore Pools took over all draws in May 2004.
